About Words Literacy Assessment

The About Words Literacy Assessment is taught at the first workshop of all practical courses.

Tutors and teachers use the About Words Literacy Assessment to identify exactly what is preventing students from mastering spelling and reading. 

The assessment covers eight areas that are identified as being crucial for the mastery of reading and spelling.

This detailed assessment enables the tutor or teacher to observe and record the student's current literacy knowledge. This assessment is suitable for both individual and group situations.

How to administer the About Words Literacy Assessment is taught at the first workshop. Participants then do the assessment with their student or students. These results are bought to the second workshop. The assessment will have identified any gaps the student/s are experiencing that are hindering their literacy progress. The second workshop will empower the tutor or teacher to fill those gaps and progress the student.
