Sounds of English, CD and Phonogram Cards

This CD is a recording of the individual sounds of English. It is used with the Phonogram Cards.  This enables the students to see the spelling of the sounds while they are hearing them. The order of the sounds and the cards follows the order of the Practical Phonics Workbooks.

These cards show the individual phonograms on one side and word examples and rules on the other.

The cards are colour-coded to reflect their history. The pink cards represent the base words from Early English, the yellow cards represent Middle English words.  The blue cards represent the advanced words formed by adding a prefix and/or suffix to a Greek or Latin root.
